hear this...down with the sickness

Disturbed!!!! are they in to heavy metal???

Disturbed is a band from Chicago, Illinois. It was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. Disturbed was originally founded as a nu metal band, but are now regarded as hard rock or heavy metal, although some critics regard them as alternative metal. There is still much debate on whether the band should be considered heavy metal. Many extreme metal fans, for example, would not consider Disturbed's music as what they call "true metal."

Band members:

kurts final letter read it!!!

Kurt's farewell:
To Boddah
Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would
rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee. This note should be pretty
easy to understand. All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over
the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, the ethics
involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven
to be very true. I haven't felt the excitement of listening to as well as
creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I
feel guilty beyond words about these things. For example when we're
backstage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowd begins, it
doesn't affect me the way in which it did for Freddy Mercury, who seem to
love, relish in the love and adoration from the crowd, which is somehting I
totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can't fool you, any one of you. It
simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to
rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100% fun.
Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk
out on stage. I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I
do, God believe me I do, but it's not enough). I appreciate the fact that I
and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. I must be one of
those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too
sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasm I
once had as a child. On our last 3 tours, I've had a much better
appreciation for all the people I've known personally and as fans of our
music, but I still can't get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I
have for everyone. There's good in all of us and I think I simply love
people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad
little sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don't you just
enjoy it? I don't know! I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and
empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what I used to be, full
of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good
and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point where I can
barely function. I can't stand the thought of Frances becoming the
miseraable, self-destructive, death rocker that I've become. I have it
good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become
hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for
people to get along and have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry
for people too much I guess. Thank you all from the pit of my burning,
nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I'm
too much of an erratic, moody, baby! I don't have the passion anymore, and
so remember, it's better to burn out then to fade away. Peace, Love,
Empathy. Kurt Cobain.
Frances and Courtney, I'll be at your altar
Please keep going Courtney,
for Frances.
for her life will be so much happier
without me. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU

Trapt !!!! hear disconnected and get connected

Trapt is one of the recent bands which has impressed me a lot!!!.They are young ,hard and heavy. They have a punch in their voice..their guitars are amazing and head banging..Iam sure that any rock aficionados would love them!!!

I started hearing them on their website and i was amazed by their music. check out their website www.trapt.com. the best thing is that they are also in to Nu metal.

now the band history: They originate from california..
Members :
Chris Brown – vocals and guitar
Simon Ormandy – lead guitar
Peter Charell – bass
Aaron Montgomery – drums

On November 22nd, 2002, the band released Trapt, along with the single "Headstrong". "Headstrong" became a fantastic hit, reaching #1 on alternative charts and #16 on pop. Trapt eventually hit platinum. Trapt followed the album with an EP on March 30th, 2004, that included a new song called "Promise" along with live versions of "Made Of Glass" and "Echo".

On September 13th, 2005, the band released their sophomore album, Someone In Control, along with the single "Stand Up". "Stand Up" surprisingly failed to do as well as any of their previous singles, although it still made an excellent run on active rock stations. "Waiting" and "Disconnected (Out Of Touch)" were also released as singles, and unfortunately have yet to repeat the success of any of Trapt's self-titled radio hits.

Trapt is currently writing new material for their third album, which they hope to begin recording sometime in early 2007.

MY FAVOURITE SONG IS DISCONNECTED!!! GUYS GET CONNECTED THROUGH DISCONNECTED

moksha!!!! are they rocking!!!

moksha is one of the popular rock bands in india which was formed in the year 1995. it is said that the idea of forming this band emerged in the coffee shop. This band is quite popular internationally!!!

Moksha was the only Asian band to be featured on an Iron Maiden tribute album, which was released by a UK based recording company called Energie Records. This was followed by a Tribute album to the Metal Gods 'Metallica'.These two probably gave the break through they were looking for.

The band includes Leon on vocals, Christy and Allen on guitars, Bobby on bass and Ranjith on Drums. This is basically a band from chennai.

I recently heard their songs in their website ,i found it good but i found the punch we get from the western rock band is missing in them! after all it is only my view. But again it is to early to judge!! lets watch out for these guys!!

check out their website :http://moksha.addr.com/index.htm

see the lyrics hope u enjoy it

I'm tired of being what you want me to be,
Feeling so faithless lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)

I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all
I want to doIs be more like me
and be less like you

Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly afraid to lose control
Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
And every second I waste is more than I can take

I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this
all I want to doIs be more like me
and be less like you

And I knowI may end up failing too
But I knowYou were just like me
with someone disappointed in you

I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this
all I want to doIs be more like me
and be less like you
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be

rock philosophy!!

I Find the rock bands are so philosophical!! their lyrics reveal it! . i feel they work much inside themselves to bring such a wonderful lyrics..i love linkinpark for their lyrics..they are extremely simple and excellent!!!

i have heard a great philosopher saying "Things can be explained more simpler when it is experienced".. an ordinary man who is educated can talk much on philosophy!!! but clarity is attained only when it is experienced!!

Life is not a problem, but a mystery, And the difference between mystery and problem is immense, qualitative. A problem can be solved logically; a mystery cannot be solved logically or in any other way. A mystery has to be lived, accepted as it is.

and iam reminded of a song by linkin park now!!! its called NUMB!! the lyrics are so simple ..but i find it very soothing!!!..i feel i had the same situation as he explains in the song!!!

concept is so simple yet touching!!!

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

linkin park was actually "LINCOLNPARK"

the bands name was actually Chosen to be lincoln park ,but as it was already in the website.they had to choose another name so they named their band as"LINKINPARK"

LINKIN PARK

Members
Chester Bennington,Mike Shinoda,Joe Hahn,Brad Delson,Rob Bourdon,Dave "Phoenix" Farrell.

This is one of the innovative and upcoming band in the rock world!!! their genre is NU-METAL

Their lyrics are the best in them. it is philosophical as well as thought provoking!!at times they suit our day to day life on the trials we face..

songs like numb , in the end, soothes us during the time we are depressed.

songs like points of authority and crawling are thought provoking!! one who starts listening them can never stop listening to them!!!

The most innovative thing in their band is rap n rock together..mikeshinoda is the rapper in their band and chester who has a very different voice is the lead singer..chester's voice is awesome and amazing !!!! this band is the best combination for innovation in rock music!!!

now the band history!!!!

In 1996, MC Mike Shinoda and guitaristBrad Delson graduated from Agoura High Schoolin the Los Angeles suburb of Agoura Hills, California. Upon graduation, the two men formed a side band with their friend, drummer Rob Bourdon, under the moniker "SuperXero". Previously, Delson and Bourdon were in a band together for about a year called Relative Degree.Delson had also been part of a band called The Pricks.
The three members of SuperXero played archaic forms of their music together while at college. Delson attended the University of California, Los Angeles.Shinoda went to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. While at UCLA, Delson met bassist Dave Farrell.Delson and Farrell were roommates and often practiced and played together. Previously, Farrell used to play in a band called Tasty Snax with Mark Fiore, who later changed their name to "The Snax". Fiore later became Linkin Park's cinematographer. While at the Art Center College of Design, Shinoda met Joe Hahn. Farrell and Hahn later joined SuperXero, and the name was shortened to "Xero". The five men were later joined by lead vocalist Mark Wakefield and, together, they recorded their first, self-titled demo tape. The tape was sent out to various record labels but it was never considered and the band was never signed. Shortly thereafter, Wakefield left the band.

After Wakefield left, Shinoda began auditioning for a new vocalist and at the same time Delson began interning for a Warner Brothers RecordsA&R representative named Jeff Blue as part of his communications degree. Blue alerted Delson and Shinoda to Chester Bennington, a young vocalist from Phoenix, Arizona who was looking to join another band, after being the vocalist for Grey Daze (formerly known as Sean Dowdell and His Friends) from 1993 to 1997.
Shinoda and Delson sent Bennington a tape containing instrumentation for a song and he recorded vocals for it. He then called Shinoda and played the song over the phone. This was the start of things to come as the band was instantly impressed by the vocal abilities of Bennington and it did not take long to realize the advantages of his voice and his ability to mould it to be both soft and thought-provoking as well as hard and attention-grabbing.

once bennigton joined the group things turned great to the band!!

Their most successful albums were hybrid theory, meteora and reanimation!!!!

http://www.systemofadown.com check it out!! guess you could hear a couple of songs!!!

SYSTEM OF A DOWN

This is the band which i admire the most..they are in to hard rock !!. the best thing about this band is their lyrics and the way they sing!! ..they bring contraries together!!!i mean that they could sing a very sad song in a jovial way..

Their songs are very meaningful and philosophical ..but they present it in a very funny way!!. any body who hears them for the first time would feel they are crazy!! but they communicate very well through their songs! they make us think about what they sing!!

guys who haven't heard them come on!!! get up they make your head to bang!!!

Band history:

Members:

Serj Tankian,Daron Malakian,Shavo Odadjian,John Dolmayan.

IN THE BEGINNING:

System of a Down came to be after a band from Los Angeles, California, called "Soil" - which featured Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian - broke up. Tankian and Malakian then formed a new band, calling on Shavo Odadjian whom they knew from when Soil shared a recording studio with Odadjian's previous band. Odadjian was originally the band's manager and promoter. Odadjian quickly accepted the offer to join the band as the permanent bassist. Since then managerial duties have been undertaken by highly successful Velvet Hammer Music and streetwise founder David "Beno" Beneviste. One of their first releases was "Sugar", and they have played it at every live performance since then. They found a drummer, Andy Khachaturian, who joined the band.

THEY made their debut in 1998 and are a big hit till now. Their latest release wasan album called Mesmarise..the songs are good!!!

at present the band is at hiatus for a period of time!! but they are not braking up!!!
